The heartbeat of our parish is the celebration of the Eucharist; especially when we gather for Sunday Mass. Our monthly Healing Mass of St Peregrine (the patron saint of those with incurable illnesses) welcomes people from far afield.
The praise of God is the raison d’etre of St Mary’s whether through our Liturgical Services or in Serving the Poor. St Mary’s gathers together people from all over the world and we host monthly Mass for the Syro-Malabar (Indian) community and the Filipino community. As well as the celebration of Holy Mass we also have regular Taize Evenings, Serra Evenings, and devotions to various saints.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society which is based in the parish works relentlessly to help those in need. They provide food, furnisher, clothing, company and financial support in the form of electricity and gas tokens. They also host family social evenings in the hall to celebrate such occasions as Burns Night and Christmas.
Finally, the parish community provides bags of food to be handed out at the Church house door for those who are hungry.
St Mary’s is a community of many nationalities joined together by the love of God and neighbour.
